Day 10 Update
Day 10 of Lavinia’s Road Trip for Reclaim Life started off in Dumfries, at the Caledonian Hotel with Martin L from the Talbot Owners’ Club. Martin was a welcome visitor, bringing Paul and Harry some spare parts for the distributor as well as some moral support! As always, spending a bit of time working on Lavinia in the car park seems to have done the trick and she drove well for the remainder of the day, with only a couple of minor issues.
From Dumfries, Lavinia, Harry and Paul headed north, stopping for fuel at Burnside, just south of Cumnock and then continuing up the A76 to Kilmarnock. They then joined the A77, running alongside the M77 heading further north to Glasgow and over the Erskine Bridge.
The afternoon’s drive on the A82 took them past Loch Lomond and along the West Highland Way. They stopped at the famous Green Welly Stop and then continued on the A82, climbing steadily up from Loch Tulla, admiring the incredible scenery, to finally reach Fort William. Lavinia drove well for the majority of the day, with only a quick stop for a little adjustment of the points and to work on the condenser towards the end of the journey. It was then time for a well deserved rest for Lavinia, Harry and Paul at the YHA in Glen Nevis ahead of Day 11 of the road trip when they will travel from Glen Nevis to Ullapool.
A big thank you to everyone for their continued support on this journey. Lavinia, Harry and Paul have travelled over 1,000 miles so far and raised over £3,000 for Reclaim Life!
