Day 11 Update
Day 11 of Lavinia’s Road Trip for Reclaim Life started off in Glen Nevis. After a not so great night’s sleep at the youth hostel with no cooked breakfast on offer in the morning, Lavinia, Harry and Paul set off from Fort William. Or they certainly tried to! There was a bit of a false start owing to Lavinia being out of fuel. She had obviously used a lot the day before on the hilly roads between Dumfries and Glen Nevis. Lavinia has no fuel gauge, just a dipstick but luckily Harry and Paul carry a can for such times!
Then they were off. It was a beautiful day for driving and they make good progress in the morning, travelling along the A82 between Spean Bridge and Invergarry with some truly stunning views of Loch Lochy. In the afternoon they continued on their drive north to Ullapool including a bit of a climb up for Lavinia going across country near Inverness on the A833 and alongside Loch Glascarnoch on the A835. There was also a little bit of a hold up waiting for a boat to cross the Caledonian Canal. Harry and Paul managed to squeeze in an all-day breakfast in Dumnadochit alongside Loch Ness, but no sight of Nessie today!
They made it to Ullapool in great time ahead of their meeting with the local Rotary Club this evening. Really lucky with the weather throughout the day and looking forward to spreading the word and inspiring others to bring Reclaim Life into their community.
